Katherine Kuzner, M.A., E-RYT 500
Kat was quite a clumsy child and came to yoga as an anxious graduate student and inflexible runner. Over a decade ago, when she began practicing, almost everything was difficult for her – from sitting on the floor to standing on one leg to stilling her mind to even lying still on the floor. After years of practice, teaching thousands of classes, and leading several teacher trainings, Kat is no longer who she used to be and she knows the path that she travelled. She is eager to share it with you.
At her very first yoga class, she was tight, nervous, and overly ambitious. Kat thought that she would be able to do the splits after practicing every day for the two weeks included in a local studio’s introductory offer. This didn’t happen, but her love affair with yoga did begin and it coincided with intense study of philosophical texts and Christian Mystical Literature at Georgetown University. She couldn’t help but go deeper into exploration of embodiment, connectivity, and the experience of being human.
This eventually led her to the Prana Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in 2008. Through this training, her practice greatly deepened and she was introduced to Yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda. After immersing herself in these disciplines, her life would never be the same. Both of these practices led Kat to feeling a deeper alignment to the natural rhythms, which resulted in living with greater ease and a much, much sweeter relationship to life.
Nowadays, Kat very fully enjoys living in her body and is a Yoga instructor and Ayurvedic habits coach. She is dedicated to guiding others into deeper connection with themselves and the world around them through yoga classes, one-on-one coaching, group coaching, retreats, and yoga teacher trainings. She is currently working towards a Masters of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health at the Maryland University of Integrative Health. You can find her at Yoga District in Washington, DC and online at beingsri.com.
