Learn to support, empower and nourish expecting mamas in this 85-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training. This training focuses on teaching yoga through the precious and unrepeatable moments from conception to childbirth so that mothers experience their pregnancies with a greater sense of strength, ease, joy and connection. Using the five elements as our guiding framework, we will study how to support the physical, energetic, mental, and spiritual demands of this life phase through asana, pranayama, and meditation. Over the course of four weekends, a few of the topics that we will explore in detail include:
The Incredible Maternal Adaptations to Pregnancy
Sthira and Sukha: Pelvic Floor Elasticity
Pada Bandha in Pregnancy
The Core Body in Pregnancy
Breathing Practices for Pregnancy
Meditation and Mindfulness Practices for Pregnancy and Birth
You will learn to design your own sequences as well as teach 4 different elementally-inspired sequences to offer to beginning through advancing yoginis. In each module, we will look at relevant physical and energetic anatomy and physiology, how to skillfully modify asana, pranayama and meditation for each trimester, and how to effectively use language and theme.
While this training is geared towards teachers, it would also be appropriate for experienced practitioners wanted to deepen their knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and its relationship to yoga practice.
